Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Results -part 2

By  |

A couple of weeks ago I tried out a no light gel mani.  Now it’s time to discuss my Sally Hansen Miracle Gel results!

First, I’ll give you a little background.  I had a broken nail and I really wanted to just let it grow out.  I knew there wouldn’t be any nail art in my life for a week or so and a gel mani sounded like a perfect option to get me through.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel has gotten really great reviews from bloggers and magazines, so I gave it a try.  You can see my thoughts about the application and color by clicking HERE.  All in all, I was happy with both.

Now it’s time to talk about the wear of the polish.  After 2 days I still had some shine, but I had significant chips.  Not exactly what I had hoped for.  My immediate thought was that I must’ve applied it wrong.  But, I did my research and I really feel that I did a good job with application.

I ended up taking the polish off and doing a fresh mani.  I did thinner coats the second time.  I didn’t have the plush look I got with the first attempt, but it did last 5 days with only tip wear -no chips.  That is much better, but still not what I would expect from a gel mani.

Would I do it again?  Yes I would.  But, I don’t expect to get a full week of perfect nails.  I have also tried the polish system on my toes since chipping pretty much never happens there and I like the shine.  Those results have been much better.

Have you tried no light gel polish?  What kind of wear did you get?  I’d love to know!

Bummer that it chipped, but the color is absolutely gorgeous!

I think it’s disappointing that this chipped so much in such a short time, especially since it’s supposed to be longer lasting. I just haven’t really had success with Sally Hansen in general. 🙁

Gel manis really dry my cuticles so I am old school regular polish.

Bummer it didn’t last long. I’m so rough with my hands that the only sure fire way to get a long mani is to get gels at the salon.

I’d be so disappointed with chipping like that. If I can’t get 5-7 days out of a manicure I’d never use the polish again.

I don’t think I’ve gotten 7 days ever in my life. I’m jealous!

This will probably chip on me in half-a day because I wash and sanitize my hands heavily. What a bummer

I like this range and the shades available, but it definitely doesn’t last as long as a true gel on me either (but everything chips quickly, so I’m used to it!)

Bummer about the chipping. I’ve tried LED-cured gel polish and it lasted about 8 days with tipwear, but I wanted a no-light option that would stay on as long. Five no-chip days is still better than regular polish, though.

These don’t last as long as claims made. I still like them, but i never expect much wear wise
