My July Ipsy Bag!

By  |

Time to look through my July ipsy bag! But, real quick before I do that, I have to vent about a silly pet peeve I have.  What is up with all of these cosmetic companies using lowercase names?  It’s everywhere now.  It’s as if you don’t go lowercase you’re not trendy or something.  I’m sure I’m the only one, but I find it beyond annoying.  I will still love ipsy and essie and benefit and all the others (I’m sure I could list 20 of them, but I’ll spare you)…. However, it will continue to make me nuts.  <<<climbs off of soapbox>>>

Now for the important stuff!  The July ipsy bag is super cute with it’s bright ikat design! I totally love the colors on this one.  The first thing I pulled out of the bag was the lipstick.

It’s from Teez Cosmetics and they call it Read My Lipstick.  Super cute name and really fun packaging.  The color I got is called Killing me Softly.  It’s a coral and has a lot of what I’m going to call a white undertone (there’s a swipe of it on my hand if you scroll down). The formula is very creamy and soft, so I like that a lot. Ultimately it’s just not a color I’m into.  Bummer.

Next up… OFFRA Cosmetics Bliss eyeshadow.  It’s a really pretty neutral or nude color with a prism of shimmers.  Gorgeous color, but probably one I’ll have to be careful with. I try to avoid to much ‘disco’ around my eyes… Hahaha  The formula is really smooth and silky on this powder.  I may have to do some more investigating into this brand.

I’m going to call these last the “the supporting characters”.  These are the products that stay behind the scenes, right? There’s a very handy Crown Brush tweezer that will be very handy to have in my backup bag (sorry… I have one that I’m loyal to in my primary bag).

There is a nice sized Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator from Visante Cosmetics.  I love enzyme cleansers, so I’m really looking forward to trying this one.  They always make my face feel so polished!  Plus, this one is sulfate free which I find very cool.  If I don’t use sulfates on my hair, why should I use them on my face right?

Last but certainly not least is a Sea Salt Spray from Octavio Molina Hair.  I have to confess, i’ve never tried a sea salt spray <<gasp!>> For some reason my head thinks it will make my hair a tangled mess.  I have enough tangles in my curls to begin with so the idea of adding more scares me.  But, we’ll give it a shot.  You never know until you try!

Would any of these little beauties make it to your makeup bag?  I’d love to know!

I agree with you about the lowercase names. Probably a case of trying too hard to be different, but now everyone’s doing the same thing. The Teeez lippie looks pretty. It actually matches your nails perfectly!

Yes, I think that’s probably it. The lippie just doesn’t seem to like my skin tone. Maybe I’ll put a gloss over it. Decisions decisions!

I had somewhat similar items in my bag. The lipstick though is so fragranced that I have to give it away. I’m usually pleased with Ipsy bags with or without capital letters.

lol on lower case. when i’m not feeling it (lazy that is), i don’t hit caps. so probably these companies have the same rationale, laziness, haha! you can tell i’m tired now, lower case won….

It doesn’t bother me when people do it, but when companies do it with their name for some reason it just makes me nuts. Silly, I know 😉
